The plant, once fully operational, is projected to churn out a remarkable 4.83 crore chips per day, leveraging indigenously developed technologies. This mammoth undertaking underscores Tata’s commitment to India's semiconductor self-reliance and positions Assam as a key player in the country's burgeoning electronics manufacturing landscape.
Addressing a gathering of dignitaries, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran expressed optimism about the project, highlighting its potential to attract a robust semiconductor ecosystem to the region. "This plant is more than just a manufacturing facility; it's a catalyst for growth and development," he said.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hailed the project as a game-changer, emphasizing its potential to create employment opportunities for the state's youth and contribute significantly to its overall progress.
